Feeling Stuck in Life

Have you ever felt stuck? Or felt like you shouldn’t be where you’re at in life?

If that’s the case, don’t give up yet. It’s just a pit stop. A detour in life that can either make you feel stuck or…a short-cut to improving yourself. But you get to decide which kind of pit stop it is.

I am currently working at a part-time job at a game store…And I’m enjoying it! This is just a pit stop on my overall journey. But there’s always something new to learn or do at a pit stop.

And here are three questions you can ask yourself if you ever feel like you’re at a pit stop.

  • Is there anything I can learn at this pit stop?

There is always something we can learn that can help us move forward. Instead of seeing this pit stop as the end, see it as an opportunity to learn. Lots of skills are fluid and can be transferred to different jobs.

I’ve been learning a lot of business skills and people skills at my current job. And I know that they’ll be useful as I continue moving forward.

  • What are some skills that I can work on or adapt to my current situation?

Use your skillset in your current situation. It’ll only help you improve and strengthen what you already know or can do. Plus, it might help you think outside the box when it comes to using your skills. It’s all about utilizing your skills for all situations. There’s no downside to this.

I’m using my writing skills to help with their social media posts. And I’m using my education background to talk with customers about our products in an effective way that helps them get a better understanding of the products we sell.

  • How much energy/time should I put into this?

This is where most will get stuck on. We see this pit stop as an end and then we focus all our energy into it. But it’s not! Whether it’s a part-time job or a setback. It’s only a pit stop. It’s meant to last for a little while, not forever. You get to decide how much energy to put into it.

I’m putting 50% of my time into this job. And utilizing the other half for studying, writing, and exercise. I’ve chosen to prioritize these at this time because it is what I’m comfortable doing with my time. Find out what you’re comfortable doing with your time and focus on those things.

You might be at a pit stop right now. But don’t give up. Don’t focus all your energy on it. Look at it as a time to learn and grow and improve yourself. Then move on. Just like a car race, the pit stop is there to refuel you, put new tires on, and get you back out there into the main event!

Remember: A pit stop is just temporary.
